Designer home merging indoor with outdoors
Spanning an area of more than 3,000 square feet and set across two levels—a ground floor and an upper floor—plus a rooftop terrace, this four-bedroom residence is hidden amidst a captivating natural environment that immediately invites relaxation.
The team at CO-LAB Design Office, led by Joshua Beck and Joana Gomes, carefully crafted and positioned the house to safeguard the existing trees on the narrow plot.A primary objective was to cultivate an experience that seamlessly coexists with the surrounding nature. This intention is noticeable from the entrance, tucked behind a garden of Arecas.
The resulting stone from excavation found new life as the house's wall, while the polished white cement walls inside provide a striking yet balanced contrast to the light gray-hued floor.
Furniture pieces, designed by CO-LAB Design Office and crafted in collaboration with Yucatecan artisans, adorn the living spaces. The team also employed locally sourced wood, treated to achieve a gentle tone, adding warmth and further intensifying the sense of tranquility.
