Set on a secluded stretch of Oaxacan beach, Casa Niku is a 5-bedroom villa that lets you escape from it all while having every amenity on hand. Incorporating classic beachy aesthetics with oriental details, Casa Niku offers an experience akin to having a luxury resort all to yourself.
Casa Niku is a quintessential beachfront villa with crisp white walls and parota wood accents. An interesting touch is the roofs upturned corners, which are almost reminiscent of a Shinto shrine. We love the way the property’s layout connects the interior to the outside; the upstairs terrace is partially shaded by sturdy wooden beams, while the bathrooms open out into the gardens, with strategically placed walls for total privacy.
Casa Niku’s most impressive feature is its 3 swimming pools. The oceanfront infinity pool seems to almost connect with the Pacific, while the interior pool continues the interplay between indoors and out. Equally, the upstairs hot tub makes the property feel like something between a Oaxacan villa and Japanese sento.
Casa Niku sleeps up to 12 people in 5 bedrooms, each with an ensuite and a private terrace with ocean views.
Beyond the rooms, the sprawling property offers a kitchen, bar, pool deck, infinity oceanfront pool, shaded interior pool, outdoor dining area, outdoor lounge area, oceanfront fire pit, second-floor sunset terrace, and open-air yoga studio, where an instructor can lead private sessions for an extra fee.
Yoga is just one of the services on offer at this impressive resort-style villa. The team can organize personal training, horseback riding, surfing lessons, and dolphin-watching excursions. Back at the house, the on-site kitchen and bar team serve fresh, local dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all included in the cost of your stay. There is also daily housekeeping and WiFi throughout the property.
Casa Niku is located on a pristine stretch of beach south of Puerto Escondido. There are only a few other properties and one high-end hotel restaurant in its immediate vicinity; this is a place to relax, turn off, and tune out.
However, if guests want to venture further afield, Puerto Escondido is half an hour along the Carretera Costera. Puerto Escondido itself is a bustling surf town with a variety of bars, restaurants, and venues. We love Sommo, which serves exquisite sashimi and cocktails. Or, for a chic take on rustic favorites, we recommend the tamales at Terraza Molli. You can take a local taxi, or we can arrange car hire.
When you arrive, you’ll fly into Puerto Escondido International Airport (PXM), which is connected to all major Mexican hubs and Los Angeles (LAX). The property is 30 minutes from the airport in a taxi or private shuttle.
Weddings and events of up to 100 maximum guests can be arranged for additional charges.
